Haydn Briggs, Philadelphia psychotherapist, in deep reflection during an experiential therapy session

About Haydn

I’m a therapist, facilitator, and educator— and someone who’s been in both chairs. My work is shaped by personal experience, clinical training, and a relentless curiosity about what helps people and systems change.

I work with individuals, clinicians, and organizations navigating the vulnerable edge between what’s known and what’s next. My orientation is experiential, relational, and grounded in the belief that the therapy room isn’t separate from the rest of life. It’s a laboratory for making new choices.

I specialize in working with people and groups who find themselves in places where clarity doesn’t come easily: the stuck spots, the patterns that keep playing out, the painful and paralyzing roles we can’t quite shake. I use methods like psychodrama, sociometry, and trauma-informed group process. I’ve seen how powerful it can be to get out of the abstract and into action. I care deeply about helping groups navigate conflict, build real cohesion, and do meaningful work together.

I run a private therapy practice and lead two connected projects: Philadelphia Area Psychodrama Institute, which offers clinical and experiential therapy training for professionals, and Stillpoint Intensives, where I facilitate extended-format experiential therapy intensives for individuals, couples, families, and groups.

FAQs

Do you take insurance?

I don’t work directly with insurance, but I can provide a monthly superbill if you have out-of-network coverage. Some of my clients get partial reimbursement that way. If you’re not sure, check with your policy provider.

How do I know if this work is right for me?

It’s okay not to be sure yet. If you’re curious, we can start with a consult call. That’s a chance to feel things out.

What’s your approach to therapy?

I lean experiential, psychodynamic, and deeply relational. That means we’ll work with insight, but also with emotion, embodiment, and action. We’ll go beneath the surface, and do it in a way that feels grounded, collaborative, and real.

What kinds of clients do you work with?

I work with adults navigating complex life transitions, shifting roles, addiction recovery, burnout, painful relationship patterns, and big-picture stuckness. I also work with therapists, facilitators, and helpers seeking their own healing or professional depth.

What are Stillpoint Intensives?

They’re longer-format sessions (multi-hour, full-day, weekend, or more) for people who want to dive deeper than the pace of weekly therapy allows. These intensives are custom designed around your goals and ways of working.

Can I book you for speaking, consulting, or training?

Yes. I offer supervision, experiential workshops, and organizational consulting through the Philadelphia Area Psychodrama Institute (PAPI). Reach out and let’s see what fits.
