Therapy intensives

A full day of focused work, in person in Philadelphia (Fishtown) or Malvern, PA. Couple, family, and small group intensives are available by request.

Why a full day

Weekly therapy is good for a lot of things, but fifty minutes often ends right when something opens up. An intensive gives us the whole day. We can slow down, stay with one thing, and see it through.

People come for intensives to:

  • Work through a specific memory, loss, or relationship

  • Get at something that keeps slipping away in weekly sessions

  • Start therapy with real momentum instead of easing in

  • Get ready for a big change, or make sense of one that just happened

  • Work on something together as a couple, family, or small group

You don’t need to be a current client. Intensives aren’t a fit in a crisis or in early recovery from addiction.

How I work

An intensive is where we lean heavily into psychodrama and action methods. We might sculpt your family with objects and chairs, step into a scene that never got finished, say what never got said, or hear what you never got to hear. I also bring in sociometry, IFS, and EMDR, with close attention to what’s happening in your body. We go at a pace that keeps you steady.

Getting started

Send me a short note through this form about what you’d want to work on. If it sounds like a fit, we’ll have a brief call and then one planning session to choose a focus. If you have a therapist, I’ll ask to coordinate with them so the work keeps going afterward.

Questions

What does an intensive cost?
A full-day individual intensive is 6 hours with a lunch break, and it’s $1,800. Couple, family, and small group intensives are priced by request.

Do you offer intensives for couples, families, or groups?
Yes, by request. A couple or family might use a day to work through something that keeps coming up between them. A small group of three to six people, such as colleagues or friends, might want to do their own work together. Everyone has a call with me first.

Can I do an intensive online?
No, intensives are in person only. If you live outside Pennsylvania, you can travel here for the day.
